Do you want to find out the latest developments and theories in the fields of evolution of robustness of life, horizontal gene transfer between organisms sharing the same habitat, or possibilities of finding life on other planets...?
Our group (Laboratory for Biophysics and Bioinformatics of Bacterial Cells, MedILS) is organizing Summer School on Life in Extreme Conditions as part of the project MedILS Summer School 2008, in the period from 3rd-9th August.
Main focus of the school is on the evolution and maintenance of life in habitats such as eternal ice, the bottom of the ocean, salt lakes, or other planets.Invited lecturers are Andrew Pohorille (Biophysics, NASA Astrobiology Institute, NASA Ames Research Center, USA), Miroslav Radman (Medical and Evolutionary Molecular Genetics, MedILS, Split, Croatia, and INSERM U571, Paris, France), Eduardo Rocha (Comparative and Evolutionary Genomics, Université P.M. Curie, Paris VI, France) and Ksenija Zahradka (Molecular Biology, Institut Ruder Boškovic, Zagreb, Croatia, and Medical and Evolutionary Molecular Genetics, MedILS, Split, Croatia).|
For more information and details please visit summer school webpage. Please do not hesitate to send email to extremelife@medils.hr if you have any further questions. |
