We invite participants to the Kobe International School of Planetary
Sciences 2006. This school aims to promote lively international interaction in planetary science and to educate graduate students and
young researchers from all over the world. This international school is held annually, and is supported by the 21st Century Center of Excellence Program: "Origin and Evolution of Planetary Systems" at Kobe University.
This year's topic will be "Small Bodies in Planetary Systems". Following last year's topic of the "Origin of Planetary Systems", it will emphasize studying the evolution of planetary systems: The evolution history of the small bodies in our solar system can be inferred from studying their orbits and properties today, while observing the dust and small bodies in extra-solar systems shows planetary systems in different
evolutionary stages. Astronomical research, space research and laboratory research recently brought a wealth of new insights into the evolution of planetary systems and the lectures will address these
including results from recent observations and from the recent space missions Deep Impact and Hayabusa.
We look forward to receiving your application.
